Weekly Reading: Luke 15:1-7Matthew 18:12-14

Monday Reflection

God Seeks the Lost with Relentless Love: In this parable, Jesus teaches that God actively seeks out those who are lost and rejoices when they are found. Just as the shepherd leaves the ninety-nine to pursue the one lost sheep, God’s love is personal and relentless. Jesus emphasizes the value of every individual in the eyes of God.

Monday Verse

My dear brothers and sisters, if someone among you wanders away from the truth and is brought back, you can be sure that whoever brings the sinner back from wandering will save that person from death and bring about the forgiveness of many sins. James 5:19-20 (NLT)

Monday Questions

Are there people in my life that I may have written off as unreachable or too far gone?

Monday Insight Post
by Kim Feld

Luke chapter 15 offers a profound insight into God’s personal connection with each of us, especially those who are far from Him. In this chapter, Jesus shares three parables: one about a lost sheep, another about a lost coin, and the last about a son who strayed away and eventually returned. In all of these stories, Jesus emphasizes that God values us individually and relentlessly pursues us to make us His own.

One of our core values at New Hope is the joy of sharing our faith, captured in the phrase “Found People Find People.” This means that because we have been found by Jesus, we should be excited to share our faith with those who are still far from Him.

Today, let’s take on the meaningful challenge to pray persistently for our family members, friends, and neighbors who do not yet know Jesus. It’s important to remember that prayer is not just a routine or a formality; it is a powerful tool that can lead to miraculous changes in the lives of those around us. Through prayer, we can reach out to God on behalf of the people we care about, asking for their hearts to be softened and their eyes to be opened to the love and grace of Jesus.

As we approach the Easter season, which is known to be one of the easiest times of the year to invite someone to church, let’s seize this opportunity to take a risk. This is a time when people are often more receptive to an invitation, reflecting on themes of hope, renewal, and resurrection. Consider extending an invitation to a friend or neighbor, encouraging them to join you in celebrating this meaningful season.

You never know what God can do with your invitation—He may open doors you didn’t even expect. The act of reaching out can spark conversations and connections that lead to a deeper exploration of faith. So, let’s commit to pray for boldness and creativity in our invitations, trusting that God is working in the hearts of those we care about. Together, let’s rely on the strength of our prayer and the power of our invitations to make a lasting impact as we share the message of hope found in Jesus.
