This week’s reading- Lamentations 1, John 2, Psalm 44, Hebrews 10
My biggest takeaway from Hebrews 10 was the unknown author’s reminder to remain firm in our faith. I don’t know about you, but I can use this reminder!
I must be faithful in leaning on God’s promises and finding strength during challenging times. I can too easily allow some challenges or circumstances to shake my faith. It says this in Hebrews 10:23:
“Let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word.” Hebrews 10:23 (The Message)
This message reminds believers to remain steadfast in our faith and gives us confidence in God’s faithfulness and promises. How would my life, and your life, look different if we went through our day believing AND living with this truth? It is amazing what God can do when I walk with faith and trust. It can be awfully dark and daunting when I don’t keep my faith and trust in God. I struggle with understanding why I continue to live, allowing my fears and concerns to take control. I easily get frustrated and down when I allow this to happen. I plan on memorizing Hebrews 10:23, hoping that it pops into my head every time I allow myself to forget that “He always keeps his word.”
How might the message of hope in Hebrews 10 shape our attitude and outlook today? How can we share this hope with others searching for meaning and purpose today? How can we cultivate a steadfast spirit and remain firm in our beliefs?
