Back-to-School Clothing Drive
July 27 - August 7 2023 | New Hope Church
As the summer days gently fade, it’s time to gear up for an exciting new school year! However, for many families in our surrounding communities, the burden of back-to-school expenses can be overwhelming. According to recent statistics, the average American family spends around $700 per child on school supplies and clothing at the beginning of the school year. That’s a significant cost that can put a strain on already tight budgets.
But don’t worry! We have two upcoming initiatives for all of us to make a positive impact and to be part of making a meaningful difference.
The first initiative is in partnership with Seven Oaks Academy in Prince William County. In support of their Back-to-School Clothing Drive, we will be collecting clean and gently used fall clothing that’s perfect for the back-to-school season. Together, we can ease the financial burden on local families and ensure every child starts the new school year with confidence and dignity.
A drop-off bin will be conveniently placed in the front lobby of New Hope Church to make donating as simple as possible. We will be collecting clean and gently used fall clothing suitable for infants through teens. Items like lightweight jackets, cozy sweaters, shirts, pants, and other school-appropriate attire will be gratefully collected over the next couple of weeks.
Let’s create a ripple effect of kindness and generosity within our community! Together, we can make the upcoming school year a brighter and more hopeful time for those who need it most. Stay tuned, as we will be announcing the details of our second initiative – collecting school supply vouchers in a couple of weeks.
