June 22: Weekly Focus

June – Solitude
Solitude is the practice of stepping away from noise and busyness to be alone with God. It is not about escaping responsibilities but about creating space to hear His voice more clearly. In solitude, we remember that God is enough and that our worth comes from Him, not from what we do or what others think. This month we focus on solitude as a way of drawing near to God in quiet trust and dependence.
Week of June 22- Week 25
Reading:
¹And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. ²Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:1–2 (NLT)
Solitude helps us step away from the noise of the world so God can renew our minds and shape us into living sacrifices.
Reflection Questions:
1. How does solitude create space for transformation in your mind and heart?
2. What distractions do you need to release to hear God’s voice more clearly?
3. How does offering yourself to God in solitude change your daily worship?
4. What helps you resist being shaped by the patterns of the world?
5. How can you practice solitude in a way that leads to lasting transformation?
Why this matters for life today:
God promises rest for the weary. Solitude is one way to experience that rest. It is not about isolation but about reconnecting with the One who gives us peace and strength.
Take it Deeper:
- Seeking God earnestly in quiet strengthens our souls with His presence.
1O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water. 2I have seen you in your sanctuary and gazed upon your power and glory. Psalm 63:1–2 (NLT)
- In quietness and trust we find renewed strength from God. We need to rely on His promises and faithfulness.
15This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength. But you would have none of it.” Isaiah 30:15 (NLT)
