June – Solitude

Solitude is the practice of stepping away from noise and busyness to be alone with God. It is not about escaping responsibilities but about creating space to hear His voice more clearly. In solitude, we remember that God is enough and that our worth comes from Him, not from what we do or what others think. This month we focus on solitude as a way of drawing near to God in quiet trust and dependence.

Week of June 29- Week 26

Reading:

¹But Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness for prayer. Luke 5:16 (NLT)

Jesus made solitude a regular habit. His life shows us that time alone with God is not occasional but essential.

Reflection Questions:

1.    What does Jesus’ habit of solitude teach you about consistency?

2.    How might regular solitude shape your spiritual growth?

3.    What could it look like for you to build solitude into your weekly rhythm?

4.    How does prayer in solitude strengthen your trust in God?

5.    What step could you take this week to begin practicing solitude more regularly?

Why this matters for life today:

Before and after big moments, Jesus made time to be alone with God. Our lives are no different. Setting aside time for solitude helps us face challenges and opportunities with fresh perspective and deeper trust.

Take it Deeper:

  • Jesus invited His disciples to rest in a quiet place with Him.

31Then Jesus said, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest a while.” He said this because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his apostles didn’t even have time to eat. 32So they left by boat for a quiet place, where they could be alone. Mark 6:31–32 (NLT)

  • Waiting quietly on the Lord brings hope and endurance.

25The Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him. 26So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord. 27And it is good for people to submit at an early age to the yoke of his discipline: 28Let them sit alone in silence beneath the Lord’s demands. Lamentations 3:25–28 (NLT)
