March – Celebration

Celebration is the practice of rejoicing in who God is and what He has done. It is not dependent on circumstances but flows from the deep joy of knowing God’s love and salvation. Through celebration, we are reminded of the victory Jesus has won, and we are invited to live each day with gratitude and hope. As Easter approaches, we celebrate the resurrection that brings life, freedom, and joy.

Week of March 23- Week 12

Reading:

8Most of the crowd spread their garments on the road ahead of him, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. 9Jesus was in the center of the procession, and the people all around him were shouting, “Praise God for the Son of David! Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Praise God in highest heaven!” Matthew 21:8–9 (NLT)

As Jesus entered Jerusalem, the people celebrated Him as King. Palm Sunday reminds us that true celebration points to Jesus and the salvation He brings.

Reflection Questions:

  1. How do you personally celebrate Jesus as King?
  2. What does this passage teach us about giving Jesus honor?
  3. How might your life reflect joy in Christ this week?
  4. How does celebration prepare your heart for Easter?
  5. What can you do to join in praising Jesus in both words and actions?

Why this matters for life today:

Happiness fades, but joy rooted in Jesus lasts. Celebration reminds us that hope in Him cannot be taken away.

Take it Deeper:

  • Imagine the joy you would have if you were there when Jesus came riding in on a donkey.

9Rejoice, O people of Zion! Shout in triumph, O people of Jerusalem! Look, your king is coming to you. He is righteous and victorious, yet he is humble, riding on a donkey—riding on a donkey’s colt. Zechariah 9:9 (NLT)

  • People from every nation will one day celebrate before God’s throne.

9After this I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands. 10And they were shouting with a great roar, “Salvation comes from our God who sits on the throne and from the Lamb!” Revelation 7:9–10 (NLT)
