September 14: Weekly Focus

September – Guidance
Guidance is the practice of seeking and following the direction of God through His Word, prayer, and the wisdom of the Holy Spirit. It also involves learning from the counsel of wise believers who walk closely with God. When we trust God’s guidance, He leads us in paths of peace, purpose, and truth. This month we focus on living with open hearts that listen for God’s voice and follow His leading.
Week of September 14- Week 37
Reading:
14For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. Romans 8:14 (NLT)
God’s Spirit leads His children. Guidance is not about rules alone but about being led by a living relationship with Him.
Reflection Questions:
1. What does it mean to be led by the Spirit?
2. How does being God’s child give you confidence in His guidance?
3. How can you become more aware of the Spirit’s leading in daily life?
4. What keeps you from listening to the Spirit’s direction?
5. What is one way you can respond to the Spirit’s guidance this week?
Why this matters for life today:
We all face crossroads and wonder what to do next. Asking God for guidance brings clarity and peace, even when the answer does not come right away. Waiting on Him shapes us as much as the answer itself.
26The Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you. John 14:26 (NLT)
Take it Deeper:
- Surrendering our will to the guidance of the Holy Spirit helps us grow in holiness, wisdom, and peace.
13When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. John 16:13 (NLT)
- The Holy Spirit was the advocate Jesus promised to assure His presence after His departure.
