September 28: Insight Post by Bret Burzio

Monday Insight Post

Some of us “young-uns” remember the Krazy Glue ad back in the early 80s that had a construction worker suspended from a steel beam by just his hard hat and just one drop of Krazy Glue. For whatever reason as soon as I read our verses this week, I was immediately transported to that commercial showing the power of the Krazy Glue. Romans 8:38-39 (NLT) says, 38And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow; not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39No power in the sky above or in the earth below; indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Now I’m quite sure something eventually separated the hard hat from the steel beam because, well, it was made by men. Which is why I love how Paul expresses with such elegance and depth why the bond God makes is a completely, utterly, eternally, unbreakable one when we place our faith in Jesus. When we choose to follow Jesus and place our faith in Him, nothing can ever separate us from His love! If we still have breath in our lungs, we have His love. If we die, we are with Him in paradise. There isn’t an angel or demon out there that has any say in the matter. If we find ourselves steeped in the fears and the worries the world can throw our way, His love is always there guiding us through it. Satan... Nope. God’s perfect plan took care of him as well. Physics, chemistry, geography, biology, meteorology, astronomy, and any other “ic”, “ism”, or “ology”? You name it, and God’s right there loving us through them all in Christ Jesus our Lord.
How beautiful it is to know the truth that if you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ, nothing can separate you from God’s love! I hope that provides you with comfort this week as you go through your days. And if you’re not sure about your relationship with Jesus, please reach out to us. You can send an email to info@newhope.org with any questions or concerns. Or reach out to us the next time you’re here in person at New Hope. We would love to have the opportunity to talk with you!
