Walk 4 Water
August 24 10:00 am | New Hope Church
Join New Hope for Walk 4 Water, an immersive and interactive event for the whole family on Saturday, August 24th.
During this event, you will have the opportunity to visit our Safe Water Exhibit and walk around the campus carrying cans filled with water, simulating the walk little girls make every day so their families can live.
Every day, women and children in developing nations face the task of walking long distances, averaging 3.7 miles, to fetch water. Unfortunately, this water is often contaminated with dangerous diseases that threaten their lives. To make matters worse, the containers they use to carry the water weigh almost 40 pounds, adding to the physical strain and time commitment of this responsibility.
Currently, these individuals suffer from a lack of access to clean water, which plunges them into extreme poverty and exposes them to preventable illnesses and even death due to contaminated water.
The goal of this event is to raise awareness about the lack of clean water in Uganda and raise $21,000 to fund the drilling of two wells.
We have three ways to participate:
- Attend the event: $25 ($15 for children 5 and under)
