This week’s reading- 2 Chronicles 5Revelation 7, Psalm 2Psalm 18

I love the first two verses in Psalm 18-

“I love you, Lord; you are my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety.”

However, the challenge for me can be in the middle of “doing” life is that I sometimes lack the consistent hope I should have in God. I can easily let distractions, fear, and uncertainty rob me of hope.

While “steadfast hope” is not used directly, these verses should remind me that there is hope and confidence in God’s strength.

“Steadfast hope” can refer to a strong and unwavering belief or expectation that something desired or promised will be fulfilled, regardless of present circumstances or challenges. It is a resilient and enduring trust, anchored in faith, that remains constant even when faced with difficulties, disappointments, or uncertainties.

Let us all remember these verses in times of doubt or distress and remain steadfast in hope. Let us declare with faith that God is our rock, fortress, and savior. May we find peace in God’s love, shielded by His presence and strengthened by His power? As we adopt a steadfast hope in God, we can confidently face any challenge, knowing that He is with us and His love will lead us through every storm.

I am not sure about you, but I need to seek steadfast hope! When we put our trust in Him, we discover that even in the darkest moments, His light shines through to guide us forward.
